The new government of prime minister Ali Zeidan is scheduled to be sworn in on Thursday.

Ministers in the new cabinet, which was approved by the General National Congress on 31 October, were originally due to formally take up their positions last week.

Six proposed ministers were referred to the Integrity Commission, which was charged with investigating their suitability for taking up government positions. Their status remains unclear.
