Wednesday 25 June will be an official public holiday to encourage citizens to participate in the parliamentary elections.
According to a statement on the prime minister’s website, 25 June will be a public holiday throughout Libya.
Most government departments will be closed, with the exception of 'essential' services where staff will be required to provide sufficient coverage.
Voters will elect a new "House of Representatives", which will replace the General National Congress (GNC).
