Rocket attack in main Tripoli business district

A rocket fired from a car yesterday hit a residential tower in the capital's main business area.

The incident, which caused no injuries, took place near to the Tripoli Tower (formerly the Burj al-Fateh) building, which houses the Libyan offices of many foreign firms operating in Libya, as well as several foreign embassy departments.

The target of the attack was unclear.

The area is also home to the Corinthia Bab Africa hotel, the Dhat al-Emad office complex and two completed but as-yet-unoccupied buildings, the Burj Bu Layla and the JW Marriott hotel.
